Privacy Policy

The Short Version

When you use our file tools (image, audio, GIF, and ZIP tools), your files are never uploaded to our servers. All file processing happens directly in your browser. Five lookup tools (the gaming ID lookups and the YouTube Channel ID Finder) send the username, ID, or link you type through our server to that platform's API, and never any files. Our analytics is cookie-free. Advertising may use cookies, and where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.

How Our Tools Handle Data

File Processing Tools

Our image, audio, and GIF tools, including resizers, converters, compressors, editors, and format converters, process your files entirely within your web browser using JavaScript, WebAssembly, and HTML5 Canvas. Your files are never sent to our servers or any third party. When you close or refresh the page, any file data in browser memory is cleared.

This applies to all tools in our Image, Audio, and GIF categories, as well as utility tools like the ZIP tools, the File Metadata Viewer, and the Phone Keypad Converter. A few GIF tools can pass your GIF straight to the next tool, for example from Video to GIF into the GIF Text Editor. That handoff uses your browser's own storage on your device and is never sent to us.

Lookup and API Tools

Five of our tools make server-side requests to retrieve public information:

• Minecraft UUID Lookup - sends the username you enter to Mojang's API
• Steam ID Finder - sends the profile URL or name you enter to the Steam Web API
• Roblox User ID Finder - sends the username or user ID you enter to Roblox's API
• Roblox Asset ID Lookup - sends the asset ID or link you enter to Roblox's APIs
• YouTube Channel ID Finder - sends the handle or link you enter to the YouTube Data API

These requests pass through our server to reach the third-party APIs. We do not log or store the usernames, IDs, or links you look up, and no files are involved. Results can include public images such as avatars and thumbnails, which your browser loads directly from that platform's servers, so the platform receives your IP address for those image requests.

The YouTube Channel ID Finder uses YouTube API Services. By using it, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Rate Limiting

To prevent abuse of the lookup tools and the contact form, our server keeps small counters keyed to a hashed version of your IP address. Each counter holds only a request count and a reset time. Counters reset after an hour, and old ones are deleted automatically. They contain nothing you looked up or wrote.

Information We Collect

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, hosted on our own analytics server (nevercookie.com) rather than a third party's. It:

• Does not use cookies
• Does not store IP addresses or other personal data
• Does not track you across other websites
• Reports only totals, like page views and which tools get used

We use this data only to understand which tools are popular and improve the site.

Contact Information

If you contact us through our contact form or by email, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.

Advertising

ConvertResize displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense to support the free operation of our tools. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. This may involve the collection of certain data, including:

• Browser type and settings
• Device information
• IP address
• Browsing activity on this and other sites

In places where the law requires consent, such as the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, our cookie banner asks for your permission before advertising cookies are used, and you can say no.

You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' advertising cookies at aboutads.info.

Cookies and Your Consent

ConvertResize's own pages do not set tracking cookies. Our cookie banner, provided by CookieYes, stores a small cookie that remembers your choice so you are not asked on every page, and CookieYes may keep a record of that choice as proof of consent. If you allow advertising cookies, Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link, which is also at the bottom of every page. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

YouTube Videos

Some tool pages include a video tutorial. The preview image loads from YouTube's servers when the page opens, which shares your IP address and basic browser details with Google. The video player itself only loads when you click play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once a video plays, the Google Privacy Policy applies to it.

Third-Party Services

The following third-party services may be loaded when you use our site:

• Google AdSense - advertising (may set cookies, with your consent where required)
• CookieYes - the cookie consent banner
• YouTube - tutorial video previews and the video player
• Mojang, Steam, Roblox, and YouTube APIs - used only by the lookup tools, only when you run a lookup

Our Plausible analytics runs on our own server, so it is not a third-party service. All JavaScript libraries used for file processing (such as audio encoders, GIF parsers, and PDF tools) are hosted on our own server and do not make external requests.

Data Security

For file processing tools, your files remain on your device and are never transmitted, so there is no server-side copy to protect. For lookup tools, API requests are made over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not maintain databases of user queries or results.

Children's Privacy

ConvertResize does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. Our tools do not require account creation or personal information to use. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information through the contact form, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EU and UK) or the CCPA (California), including the right to access or delete it and to withdraw consent. We do not store your files, do not require accounts, and use cookie-free analytics, so we hold very little personal data. You can withdraw advertising consent at any time through Cookie Settings, and if you have contacted us and want your messages deleted, email us and we will remove them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
