The Short Version

When you use our file tools (image, audio, GIF editing and conversion), your files are never uploaded to our servers. All file processing happens directly in your browser. A small number of our tools (gaming ID lookups, YouTube Channel ID) make server-side API calls, but these only transmit the username or ID you enter - never any files.

How Our Tools Handle Data

File Processing Tools

Our image, audio, and GIF tools - including resizers, converters, compressors, editors, and format converters - process your files entirely within your web browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. Your files are never sent to our servers or any third party. When you close or refresh the page, any file data in browser memory is cleared.

This applies to all tools in our Image, Audio, and GIF categories, as well as utility tools like ZIP file creation and file metadata viewing.

Lookup and API Tools

A small number of our tools make server-side requests to retrieve public information:

  • Minecraft UUID Lookup - sends the username you enter to the Mojang API
  • Steam ID Finder - sends the username to the Steam Web API
  • Roblox User ID Finder - sends the username to the Roblox API
  • YouTube Channel ID Finder - sends the channel name to the YouTube Data API

These requests pass through our server to reach the respective third-party APIs. We do not log or store the usernames or IDs you look up. No files are involved in these tools. To prevent abuse, our server keeps short-lived rate-limit counters keyed to a one-way hash of your IP address; these contain no lookup content and expire automatically within an hour.

Information We Collect

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that:

  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not collect personal data or IP addresses
  • Does not track users across websites
  • Is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR

We use this data only to understand which tools are popular and improve the site.

Contact Information

If you contact us through our contact form or by email, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.

Advertising

ConvertResize displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense to support the free operation of our tools. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. This may involve the collection of certain data, including:

For file processing tools, your files remain on your device and are never transmitted - there is no server-side data to protect. For lookup tools, API requests are made over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not maintain databases of user queries or results.

Children's Privacy

ConvertResize does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. Our tools do not require account creation or personal information to use. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information through the contact form, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data under regulations such as GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), or similar laws. Since we do not store file data, do not require accounts, and use privacy-focused analytics, there is minimal personal data to manage. If you have contacted us and wish to have your correspondence deleted, please let us know.
